The breadth and depth of the Trump Administration's federal assault on the arts has been unacceptable and staggering. I, personally, seek to support the artists and workers fighting to keep America's stages, screens, and galleries free. Free from government control, censorship, and the erasure of whole cultures from view. Hands Off the Arts seeks to rally the DMV arts community to stand up to, to stop, and finally reverse the trend of partisan interference in the arts. Hands Off the Arts wants the arts to be free. We want your Hands Off the Arts!

Our Goals

• Spark an Arts Rebellion: through art and protest to inspire a constant resistance to government overreach in the arts, starting with Washington, DC

• Reclaim the Kennedy Center from authoritarian overreach and protect other arts and cultural institutions from similar fates.

• Raise Courage, Counter Demoralization: Demoralization is a government tactic to coerce Americans into giving up. Arts - especially those of resistance - both counter their narrative and give our side courage.
